Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about our Jewellery Making Workshops
Q: How do I book a workshop?
A: Go to our website, choose your workshop and number of participants, pick a date/time, then checkout. After payment, you’ll receive a confirmation email with all details.
Q: Is the workshop for one or more people?
A: A booking of 1 = one person making one piece. To book for more, simply select a higher quantity.
Q: Can a friend come just to watch without booking?
A: The studio space is limited, so only booked participants can join. Companions can wait at nearby cafés. Exceptions are made for underage participants needing supervision.
Q: How do I use my giftcard?
A: when you receive a giftcard, there should be a 16 digit code. You can choose the workshop on the website, choose the date and time you like, add it to the checkout, and during checkout, apply the giftcard code in the voucher section, then it will redeem it’s value.
Q: Can I book a private workshop?
A: Yes. Private bookings require an €80 fee and can be held on weekday afternoons/evenings or Sunday afternoons. Email info@yizonjewellery.com with your workshop type, date, time, and number of people to arrange.
Q: Can I combine two different workshops?
A: Yes, but only as a private booking (see above).
Q: Do I need experience?
A: No. All skill levels are welcome.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dusty. Avoid white. Dressing up is fine – we even offer optional photoshoots.
Q: Is there parking near the studio?
A: Yes. Paid parking is widely available nearby, with some free options on weekends. Check the City of Amsterdam website for details here.
Q: What is the minimum age?
A: 12 years old.
Q: Can I cancel or reschedule?
Silver / silver clay / wax carving workshop:
More than 6 days before: You can cancel or reschedule your session directly via the link in your confirmation email at no extra cost.
Within 6 days: * Cancellations: No refunds will be given. However, you are always welcome to gift or sell your seat to a friend or family member!
Rescheduling: If you need to change your date within this 6-day window, you may do so by paying a rescheduling fee of 50% of the total workshop cost.
Grillz Making Workshop
Due to the extensive preparation required for this specific experience, cancellations or rescheduling requests are only permitted up to 14 days before the workshop start date.
Gold Workshop
Because gold materials are ordered specifically for your booking and cannot be repurposed, the following rules apply:
Refunds: Only partial refunds are possible if you cancel outside of the 6-day window.
Material Options (Cancellations outside 6 days): If you cancel in time, you have two options for the custom gold material you were charged for:
1. Arrange a pick-up to take the raw gold home.
2. Have us hold the custom gold material for you to use at a later, rebooked date.
Rescheduling: If you need to change your date within this 6-day window, you may do so by paying a rescheduling fee of 50% of the workshop cost.
Q: What designs can I make in the workshops?
A:
Silver/Gold Workshop: Make a ring (3–5mm wide) or a pendant/earrings (max. 20x20mm). You can add textures, stamps, letters, numbers, or symbols.
Silver Clay Ring Workshop: Create a ring with 7g of silver clay, plus up to 8 cubic zirconia stones.
Wax Carving Workshop: Design any sculptural piece (ring, earrings, or pendant). Casting in silver is included up to €40; larger pieces may cost extra.
